11th Annual Green-Campus Network Meeting
On Wednesday February 16th the 11th Annual Green-Campus Network Meeting took place via Zoom. We were delighted to be joined by students and staff from over twenty campuses. The format of the meeting was a combination of short talks and two breakout workshops you can watch the talks below.
The talks this year included a welcome address by Dr. Michael John O’Mahony Director of An Taisce’s Environmental Education Unit. Green-Campus Manager Dara Dever provided a Green-Campus Programme update.
Education for Sustainable Development – Co-Creating Common Areas of Need and Concern
Niamh Guiry, Research Support Officer in University College Cork presented the findings from the recently published synthesis report ‘Education for Sustainable Development – Co-Creating Common Areas of Need and Concern.’

Maynooth Green-Campus

EU Climate Pact
Gráinne Ryan, National Co-ordinator for EU Climate Pact in Ireland spoke about how to host a ‘Peer Parliament’ as part of the EU Climate Pact. You can find out more info about how to register here.
Cork University Hospital
Ruaidhrí De Barra the Sustainability Officer in Cork University Hospital shared an overview of the Green-Campus programme in CUH. Cork University Hospital was first awarded the Green Flag in 2014 and recently renewed it for the second time. It was great to hear about the progress that has been made over the challenging times.
